The ADM1281-2ACPZ-RL from Analog Devices is a single-channel hot-swap controller with integrated digital power and energy monitoring. It enables a circuit board to be inserted into or removed from a powered backplane while controlling inrush current and protecting the power path from overcurrent, short-circuit, overvoltage and undervoltage conditions.

The device controls an external N-channel MOSFET rather than integrating the power switch, allowing the circuit to be optimized for high-current systems. An integrated 12-bit ADC measures input voltage, output voltage, load current, power and remote temperature. Monitoring data and configuration registers are accessible through a PMBus-compatible interface.

The ADM1281-2 variant additionally provides an SPI-based data-streaming interface and uses an active-high enable input.
