About Sensors

Sensors convert physical, environmental or positional conditions into electrical signals for monitoring, control and data acquisition. The Antrex Sensors category includes current and magnetic sensors; motion and position sensing; color, optical and image sensors; float/level, flow, force/load-cell, pressure and linear-displacement sensors; gas, humidity and temperature sensors; proximity and industrial sensors; plus specialized sensing devices. These product families support industrial automation, motor control, power electronics, automotive systems, robotics, instrumentation, appliances, environmental monitoring, medical equipment and embedded platforms.

Choose the sensor family according to the quantity being measured, then match sensing range, accuracy, resolution, response time and output type to the application. Current and magnetic sensors require the correct current range or magnetic field range, isolation method, bandwidth and sensitivity. Motion and position devices should be checked for axes, measurement range, noise, drift, interface and calibration needs. Pressure, force, load, flow, level and displacement sensors require the proper mechanical range, overload capability, media compatibility, port or mounting geometry and signal conditioning. Temperature, humidity and gas sensors should be compared by operating range, accuracy, response/recovery time, long-term stability and environmental exposure. Optical, color, proximity and image sensors require attention to wavelength or spectral response, field of view, sensing distance, illumination conditions, pixel or optical geometry and interface. Industrial sensors also need the correct housing, connector, supply voltage, output standard such as analog, I2C, SPI, IO-Link, NPN or PNP, IP rating and temperature range. For replacements, verify the complete sensing principle, calibration, transfer function, pinout, mechanical interface and software or firmware compatibility rather than relying only on nominal range.
