About RF Demodulators

RF demodulator ICs recover baseband information from a modulated RF or intermediate-frequency signal. Quadrature demodulators use I and Q mixer paths to translate the input directly to complex baseband, while other devices target a defined IF or modulation format. Integrated products may include local-oscillator buffers or synthesizers, gain stages, baseband filters, DC-offset correction and ADC drivers. They are used in wireless infrastructure, radios, radar, instrumentation and communication receivers.

Select by RF and LO frequency ranges, usable baseband or IF bandwidth and the receiver architecture. Compare conversion gain, noise figure, IIP3, input compression, image rejection, I/Q amplitude and phase balance, DC offset and output common-mode range. Check the required LO level or integrated PLL performance, filter and gain settings, differential or single-ended interfaces and ADC drive capability. Confirm impedance matching, baluns, supply current, package grounding, thermal limits and control programming; the modulation standard alone does not guarantee a compatible replacement.
