About Time-Delay Relays

Time-delay relays switch electrical loads after a defined interval or according to a timed operating sequence. They combine timing control with relay outputs for motor control, process equipment, lighting, heating, ventilation, alarms and industrial automation. Available functions may include on-delay, off-delay, interval, repeat-cycle, star-delta, one-shot and multifunction timing, with fixed or adjustable time ranges.

Select a time-delay relay by timing function, adjustment range, supply voltage, contact arrangement and output rating. Confirm operating mode, timing accuracy, repeatability, reset time and minimum control pulse. Review socket or panel mounting, terminal style, enclosure dimensions, mechanical and electrical life, operating temperature and applicable approvals. For replacements, verify the full terminal diagram and control behavior because products with similar ranges or pin counts may use different timing logic and connections.
